We take data protection and privacy very seriously and comply with the applicable national and European data protection provisions. We outline below information concerning how we collect, process and use data in the scope of our “Audiologist of the Year” competition (the “Competition”), including in particular, what information and personal data we store, and what we do with it.

The responsible person for the collection, processing and use of your personal data via this website, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), is Energizer Group Limited, which is located within the United States of America.

2.1. Personal Data

Uner the GDPR, ”Personal Data” is defined as any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (Art. 4 (1) GDPR).

If you choose to participate in this Competition, we may collect the following Personal Data from you:  your name, email address, telephone number, address, date of birth, as well as the respective data of the nominee and the reason for the nomination that you provide via the competition sign-up sheet, or other similar or relevant data..

2.2. Collection, Processing and Use of Your Data

2.2.1 Competition sign-up sheet (consumer data)

When you contact us via the Competition sign-up sheet, we will use your Personal Data to process your nomination, i.e. to check whether the Competition terms & conditions have been met and to use your submitted reasons for the nomination to decide which nominee should be awarded. We will contact the nominee (without using your information) to confirm they approve  of us using their information. In the event the nominee does not want to participate, we will then remove the nomination and Personal Data from our databases (except for any copies that we may be legally required to keep).  We process the Personal Data under the legal basis of our legitimate interest,  as it is our legitimate interest to process the Personal Data in your nomination once submitted for the marketing purposes inherent with the Competition.

We will retain your Personal Data only for the time of the Competition, unless we are required by law to store it for a longer period.

2.2.2 Competition sign-up sheet (audiologist data)

If you have been nominated as a professional audiologist to enter the Competition, we will first use your Personal Data to contact you to receive your consent to further processing of your Personal Data. The legal basis for this processing is Article 6(1) GDPR as it is our legitimate interest to make sure that only Personal Data has been submitted of nominees that want to participate in the competition.

From then on we will use your Personal Data based on your consent in accordance with Article 6(1) GDPR as our legal basis. You can withdraw your consent at any time without having to state any reason by contacting us via the contact information below; however, your nomination will then be removed from the Competition.

We will only process your Personal Data within the framework of the Competition, namely to decide whether you shall advance in the Competition, to inform you about the status of the Competition, and, if you are chosen to advance in the Competition, and of so chosen, to possibly invite you to collect your prize during a dedicated ceremony.

We will retain your Personal Data only for the time of the Competition, unless we are required by law to store it for a longer period.

  1. How we share your Personal Data with third parties

We share information with third parties when required by law or to respond to legal process, to protect our customers; to protect lives; to maintain the security of our services and to protect our legal rights.

We also work through our affiliates, such as information technology (IT) providers, or other partners to assist with the execution of the Competition. We also work with authorized suppliers and business partners (“Partners”). When we share your personal information with our Partners, we put in place appropriate measures, typically contractual measures, to limit the use of your information for only legal and authorized purposes that are consistent with the Privacy Notice, as well as appropriate confidential and security measures.


Energizer does not share or sell any personal information that you provide to us through our websites for any separate use by any third party. From time to time, we may provide aggregate (statistical) information about our customers, sales, online traffic patterns and related information to reputable third parties to help us improve our Services. These statistics do not include any personally identifying information.


We share information with third parties when required by law or to respond to legal process, to protect our customers; to protect lives; to maintain the security of our services and to protect our legal rights.


We may share any of the information you provide to us, including personal information, with our affiliated entities and subsidiaries worldwide. This Competition is NOT intended for minor children. We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from minor children without proper consent from a parent or legal guardian.
